Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park for Game Drive With a Private Safari Jeep

Program of the day: Our professional safari guide will pick you up early in the morning (around 5:30 am) from your hotel or preferred location in Dar es Salaam.

You’ll drive westward for about 5–6 hours to Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town, passing scenic landscapes and charming villages. Upon arrival, you’ll enter the park for an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch. You’ll explore the Mkata floodplain, home to lions, herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and plains game such as zebras and impalas. Later in the afternoon, you’ll exit the park and check into your lodge.

Day 2

Full-Day Game Drives in Mikumi National Park

Program of the day: After breakfast, you’ll head into the park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Today, you’ll explore deeper areas of Mikumi, including the Hippo Pools, Vuma Hills, and Chogela area, where predator sightings, especially lions, are more likely. Birdlife is also abundant, including bateleurs, ground hornbills, fish eagles, and lilac-breasted rollers. You’ll enjoy the sweeping savannah views and take time for wildlife photography. You’ll return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.

Day 3

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

Program of the day: You’ll begin your day with an early morning game drive (optional) or enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Depending on timing, you may do a short final game drive in the park. Later, you’ll begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, with lunch on the way. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon or early evening. Drop-off is at your hotel, ferry terminal, or the airport.
