Lake Manyara National Park

Overview

Lake Manyara Safari

Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is a փոքր but incredibly diverse safari destination known for its lush scenery and varied ecosystems.

Despite its compact size, the park offers a rich mix of habitats—from groundwater forests and open grasslands to acacia woodlands and the shallow alkaline lake that gives the park its name. This diversity attracts a wide range of wildlife, making it a perfect stop on Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

Visitors can expect to see elephants roaming through the forest, troops of baboons (among the largest in Africa), giraffes, hippos, and a variety of antelope species. The park is also famous for its scenic beauty, with dramatic views of the Rift Valley escarpment creating a stunning backdrop for game drives.

Lake Manyara is often included as a first or last stop on a safari itinerary alongside the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
